August 21, 2022: Mark 7:1–23 - “The Gospel and the Human Heart”

The Pharisees—and most people since—believed the human heart is good, or at least neutral, and can be protected from corruption through certain external behaviors. Jesus corrected them, saying that the heart is itself the source of corruption. What we need, then, is far more radical than behavior modification; we need a new heart.
