December 11, 2022: Isaiah 35:1–10 - “Sing for Joy!”

The prophet Isaiah was commissioned to bring a word of judgment on God’s people: they were going to be exiled because of their idolatry and injustice. But God promised he would restore them, and this restoration was much bigger than Isaiah’s hearers could have imagined. It would not merely be the restoration of one nation to their physical homeland, but of a new people from every tribe, tongue, and nation, to the kingdom of God, through Jesus Christ. This restoration causes us to sing for joy!
