November 13, 2022: Mark 10:1–31 - “Who Matters to Jesus?”

Who matters in the kingdom of God? Jesus surprises his disciples by honoring women in a society of male dominance, receiving children in a society that saw them as a nuisance, and viewing poverty as a fast-track to the kingdom of God in a society that saw riches as a sign of God’s blessing. In all this, he tells the disciples the first will be last, and the last first—which he not only taught, but embraced, by becoming a human and dying for humans.
